Capturing your story
LIKE FRAMES FROM A MOVIE
MY PHILOSOPHY
As long as I remember using camera’s I’ve been intrigued by the theory behind making good imagery. What makes a shot good? Surely it’s not only having a nice subject and framing everything correctly. What is the secret sauce to an image that speaks a story?
Emotions.
These days everybody can get themselves a camera for a few pennies and call themselves a photographer, filmmaker or content creator. Seeing what everybody else does and copying it doesn’t make you an artist but rather one of the millions.
To stand above the crowd one must think bigger than the average and to do so I started digging deeper. Deeper into the theory of what the secret formula was to create greatness. What I found were elements of storytelling. Stories that radiate emotions. Feelings tend to be louder than words, and being able to tell a story, show emotions by the way a picture is lit, by how a shot is framed is an art form on its own. One that became my goal to master.
